Who put these "ornaments" on this tree? Walking down the towpath trail I saw this small tree with strings of peanuts tied to it. There's something else as well, but I don't recognize it.
Too sweet---someone decorated a Christmas tree for the wildlife! We used to do that with the children in our daycare. It's perfect, too, for this theme!
I am imagining a grandmother holding her grandchild's hand walking the trail on a beautiful afternoon. The grandchild's hand is holding a sack full of peanuts that grandmother and the child strung last evening and will be used to hang on tree limbs for the animals and birds. What a beautiful memory for a child.
Peanut trees are different aren't they.

ReplyDeleteBet the birds and squirrels are delighted! Great find!
ReplyDeleteI don't know who put those there but I think they must have been the same animal lovers who put bagels in the trees I spotted yesterday! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis makes for a very pretty photo!
A very charming shot! Love the ornaments.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wildlife lover has been there. Love how the peanut strings add a little surprise to the picture.
