I wonder if it's a Cooper's Hawk? The "raised hackles" look on the back of his head is kind of classic for the Cooper's. Whoever he is, it's a great candid shot!
Wrapped in your Raptor, I'd peg out the occasional squirrel in an effort to attract her back. Wouldn't try to take the squirrel off her though, I don't see evidence of a sense of humour.
